How much advance notice is needed for Seasonal and Favorite cookie sets?
Seasonal & Favorite cookie sets need to be ordered and paid for at least one week before the cookie due date. For some orders, more advance time may be required, depending on schedule availability, the size and complexity of your order, whether special supplies need to be ordered, and so on.
How and when do I pay for my cookies?
All Seasonal & Favorite cookie sets must be paid in full at least one week before the cookies are due. You will be able to pay via the Just Add Cookies website, using all major forms of payment. If the available payment methods do not work for you, please email me at tina@justaddcookies.com so we can determine if there is another solution.
Where and how do I get my cookies when they're completed?
All cookie orders can be picked up in Kent at the business home of Just Add Cookies, at the corner of Crain Ave and Miller Ave. Pick ups need to be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance so that your cookies will be fresh, delicious, and ready when you arrive. In some cases, I may be able to offer delivery or shipping for an additional fee. More info about Pick Up options is here.
How will my cookies be packaged?
I have a few different options for cookie packaging--ranging from basic heat-sealing for freshness, to more elaborate gift packaging. I am happy to work with you on options when we discuss the details of your order.
What if I change my mind after I order?
If you cancel at least a week in advance, a partial refund can be issued (minus the costs of any supplies that have been purchased). Please reach out by email to cancel---tina@justaddcookies.com. Within a week of the order due date, refunds can no longer be issued. Hand-decorated cookies take time to make and with less than a week's notice, significant time and supplies will already have been invested in your order.
What if something comes up and I can't pick up my cookies on the scheduled date?
Please reach out to let me know, so that I don't worry about you! If you can't pick up your cookies as scheduled, but you still want them, I can freeze them for you and save them for when you can pick them up. Cookies often taste even better after freezing and thawing!
Do the cookies have any allergens?
Yes, at this time all of my standard cookie recipes contain wheat, dairy, and eggs. The full ingredients lists are posted online for review before ordering, and cookies will be labeled as per Ohio Cottage Food laws. Keep in mind that these products are made in a home kitchen that is not nut-free, egg-free, dairy-free, or gluten-free. If you are interested in cookies made with alternative ingredients, please reach out and we can discuss!
How long will the cookies stay fresh?
Cookies sealed in their original packages will stay fresh for at least two weeks. To maximize freshness, keep your cookies in moderate, dry conditions—avoid direct sunlight, hot cars, and the fridge (the fridge will dry out your cookies). Cookies can also be frozen for at least three months, and will still be delicious and beautiful when thawed! Cookie Care and freezing instructions will be included with each order.
Will my cookies be exactly like the inspiration pictures and designs we discussed?
Nope! These are hand-decorated cookies, so there will always be at least small variations in the end products. I will do my very best to create cookies that you will love and that coordinate with your selected theme and colors. Any significant deviations from what we discussed will be clearly communicated, with opportunity to change your order, if desired.
